Light Science Technologies Holdings strengthens Passive Fire Protection division with Injectaclad acquisition
Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (LSTH) has announced the acquisition of Injectaclad, bringing the patented injectable cavity fire barrier technology into the Group and further strengthening its Passive Fire Protection (PFP) division.
Injectaclad provides a faster, lower-disruption method of restoring fire compartmentation within external wall cavities. Rather than removing façades or undertaking intrusive internal works, the system allows fire-resistant barriers to be installed directly within the cavity, helping building owners remediate missing or defective fire barriers while minimising disruption to residents.
The acquisition builds naturally on LSTH’s existing capability in this sector. The Group already owns Injecta Fire Barrier, a specialist installation company delivering Injectaclad remediation projects across the UK. By bringing the product itself into the Group, LSTH now controls both the technology and its installation, allowing the business to better manage quality, supply, and long-term development of the system.
Owning the patented technology also creates a broader commercial opportunity. Injectaclad is installed by contractors across England and Wales, and the acquisition enables the Group to generate revenue not only from installation projects through Injecta Fire Barrier, but also from the supply of the Injectaclad system itself across the wider installer network.
Operationally, the acquisition integrates smoothly with LSTH’s existing Passive Fire Protection infrastructure. The Group already has office space, storage facilities, and logistics capability in place to support installation activity, meaning the Injectaclad business can scale within an established operational framework rather than starting from scratch.
The transaction also supports the next phase of growth for the division. LSTH is expanding its team to support increasing demand for Injectaclad remediation projects, adding additional operational and technical roles to facilitate further rollout of the technology.
As part of a publicly listed group, Injectaclad also benefits from the structure and support of a PLC environment. Access to capital, established governance, and central operational support provides the platform needed to accelerate growth, expand market reach, and continue developing the technology as demand for building safety remediation increases.
With the UK continuing to address legacy fire safety issues in existing buildings, the acquisition positions Light Science Technologies Holdings to play an increasingly significant role in supporting remediation programmes across the country, while strengthening the Group’s growing Passive Fire Protection division.
